Certiport
My role at Certiport
Certiport hired me to update their previous global student competition sites.
Certiport engaged me to revamp their previous global student competition websites to align with the new one-page microsite layout I proposed. I recommended implementing a one-page microsite for each competition, consolidating all essential information onto a single page with easily accessible links and documents. These layout templates will be used for the upcoming years of sites for Microsoft, Adobe, and Autodesk student competitions.
Team
The team is primarily myself, contracted to create the three sites. I received content, images, and requirements from Certiport staff for proper placement and layout.
Strategy
The approach involved developing a one-page CMS site designed to keep students engaged without overwhelming them with excessive text. The emphasis was on promoting a fun competition, highlighting that everyone is a winner, regardless of the outcome. Additionally, the site was designed to be responsive and easily updatable in the future. I conducted research on various WordPress themes and created sketches, wireframes, frameworks, and prototypes based on the final theme selected as the most suitable for this project.
Planning
After developing several wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, I would submit the work to the QA team and stakeholders for review. Adjustments were frequently necessary due to ongoing updates for the competition from three different sources. However, because the site was built using an excellent theme in WordPress, implementing changes and updates was both swift and straightforward.
Design Handoff Launch
After several months of preparation and development, the sites are now ready to go live for the upcoming competition year. They were constructed on Certiport’s platforms, which I had access to, and the development process included measures to address any potential security issues, as well as the implementation of sign-up features for the competition.
Remember, these sites can be reused every year for upcoming student events.
